Forever King: Surviving the Loss of my unborn Child. Author Interview

Forever King looks like it could help a lot of other mothers in the same situation. Do you plan any other books or follow-ups?

Yes, I am currently planning on writing a prayer daily devotion for grieving parents. Actually the book can be geared to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one.

What do you think makes a strong personal story?
I believe being transparent and letting go of your fears will allow healing to take place for others who go through similar experiences. Deciding to look beyond yourself and allow people into your life with vivid details, making the reader feel like they were there in those moments.

What inspired you to write your story?
The inspiration of this story came from wanting to help other parents know they are not alone in this devastating experience that impacts 1% of the United States population annual. Roughly estimating 24 thousand babies a year are born by way of stillbirth.

What are your ambitions for your writing career? Full time? Part time?
Currently, I am a part time writing with full time goals. When I write, I give my all. Usually after my family is resting, I begin to write late at night into the early hours of the morning. My writing goals are to continue to write inspiration books for people all over the world.

When did you decide to become a writer?
I contemplated writing late one night when I begin to hear “Write your story.” I prayed about it, and the following morning I received a message saying; “God told me to tell me to write the book to help others heal. From that point forward, I begin to write my devastating experiences to help others.

When writing Forever King did anything stand out as particularly challenging?
Revisiting this private part of my life and ensuring the reader felt what I wrote, hit too close to home for me. My mother read the manuscript before it was released, and stopped reading the beginning of Forever King, as it brought her back into that place in our lives. It was hard to do but so worth it.

What do you like to do when not writing?
Believe it or not, I love to bake cupcakes. Seeing other people enjoy my sweets, makes me smile. I love to write poetry also and spending time with my heavenly father, my Papa in prayer.
