Kiss Me or Kill Me : Set Me Free (Author Interview)

Kiss Me or Kill Me looks like the perfect poetry book especially for current times. Can you tell us a little about it?
Well, "Kiss Me and Kill Me, But Please Set Me Free!" is, basically, a collection of poems written to an interactive book that speak about three different subjects; Mental Health, Love, and Inner Strength.
The first chapter, Mental Health, is meant to unearth the things that we tend to sweep under the rug. You can't fix what no one ever knows about.
The second chapter, Love, is meant to shower you with moments of love and appreciation as well as other poems about loving from the soul out.
And the last chapter, Inner strength, are poems about reclaiming the positive things about you while letting go of the things that don't serve you.

How long did it take you to write Kiss Me or Kill Me?

It kind of flowed to me. Some of the poems were already written, but when I'm going through something, and I get emotional, Inspiration comes pretty quickly, so it only took me around three to four months to write it.

What inspired you when writing Kiss Me or Kill Me?
This book was written at a time when I was feeling trapped and helpless.

I had just moved away from everything I knew, from Florida to FREEZING Michigan, I was having a hard time adjusting, and no one I could really talk to about it.

I write to get emotions out that I can't quite express properly, and this was a moment where not only did I feel the need to spill my guts all over paper, but I also knew that If there's one like me there are more, and I wanted this book to be like a message in a bottle to others who were feeling like I was. I wanted them to know that they were not alone.

Did anything stick out as particularly challenging when writing Kiss Me or Kill Me?

Oh good Lord. where do I start... The title, the cover , the arrangement of the poems, pretty much everything!! LOL! But it was definitely worth the effort.

What do you like to do when not writing?

I'm also a freelance artist, I create a lot of portraits and abstract pieces. I'm also an illustrator, and I write kids stories, some of which will be published soon.

Where can readers find out more about your work?
