Freedom Catalyst looks like a great guide. Can you tell us a little about it?
We always hear of people "going on a journey" or "going to find themselves", and it seems as simple as figuring out what you want to do, but it IS much more than that. Going on a journey of self-discovery, not knowing what I would find, resulted in a level of awareness that was enlightening. Coming back from this place and researching to find descriptions, I found many, in many different ways. This book describes (to the best of my ability to describe it) a path and simple principles to adopt to get from where we are to where we want to be.
Any plans to turn it into a series?
There are so many concepts within the book that could be adapted into a series, but as it states in the book "The influences, passions, and perceptions of life will dictate the path that each person takes." This book is meant as kindling for the inspiration and knowledge one needs to build an internal fire from it. Chapter 9 reads: "Become a student of life! Learn economics, history, law, accounting, spiritualism, culture, finance, travel, language, etc..." In short, It is up to each individual to create what they want by achieving the specific knowledge related to the vision of their path.
What inspired the idea for your book?
It was never my intention to write a book, what I was after were knowledge and truth. After discovering much more than I had set out to find and realizing how simple and life-changing it was, writing this book became more of a necessity than a passion. I wanted all of humankind to discover it for themselves.
How did you come up with the title for your book?
This life-changing place that is very possible for anyone to find, creates the greatest sense of freedom, no matter how many "chains" are tied to you. The word freedom is used a lot in our society and that waters it down to a great degree. The "Freedom" referred to in this book is the concentrated version of the word, very powerful, but it becomes very apparent at the end of the road, that it takes a great catalyst to come from within oneself or their environment, to force that door open.
What will readers get out of your book?
When the book closes the last page at the end of the day, I want each individual to be able to sit for a moment watching the sun close yet another page of their own chapter, while the many cobwebbed wheels of the mind slowly begin to break their stagnated positions, now oiled with a little knowledge and inspiration to create a greater awareness of what that sunset begins to mean, the self-awareness of that moment, and the power everyone has to affect their own lives.
What part of the book was the most fun to write?
There's a short story in the very beginning of the book, one particular experience that I felt would sum up the idea of what ONE day, lived well, feels like. When that notation was made I remember where I was standing, how it felt, the temperature, and the exhilaration of the moment; and I get to relive that every time I begin to read the book.
What was your hardest scene/section to write?
There are a few sections, like "The System and the Structure", and "For What it's Worth", which I feel are very important and knowledgeable areas within the book, that set the stage related to creating that "Catalyst" we refer to. But, setting the stage in that way, unless already of interest to an individual, does create the concern that if it causes dis-interest, the "meat and potatoes" may not be discovered.
What do you like to do when not writing?
The book is a guide for EVERYONE, that includes me. The path that I have laid out for myself now, gives me plenty to do, as well as the purpose and drive to do it. I've mentioned to peers that if one immediately sets out to explore this planet after they're born, to learn the languages, history, ideas, cultures, and experience as much as possible, there's no way to ever have enough time, so I explore, learn and travel as much as I can.
